Sandy Springs is happy to announce our award winning buffalo. Chief Bud son of GW Rio Grande and Sandy Springs Farms (SSFM) Stubborn won 1st place 2year old bull at the Kansas Buffalo Show and Sale December, 2003. His full sister won second place yearling heifer at the same show. December 2004 winning at the Kansas Buffalo Show and Sale 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place heifer calf and 2nd place 2 year old bull. The first place heifer calf won Grand Champion Female. January 2007 our bull calf son of GW Rio Grande and SSFM Stubborn won Gold at the National Bison Association Gold Trophy Sho and Sale. This is the first year we took animals to the National Show and we won a Gold. We are very excited and thankful for this award. The icing on the cake was being named Rookie of the Year. December 2007 at the Kansas Buffalo Show and Sale we won Reserve Grand Champion Female, Grand Champion Male, Best of Class: Yearling Heifer, Yearling Bull, and 2 Year Old Heifer. December 2008 at the Kansas Buffalo Show and Sale we won Grand Champion Female, Best of Class Yearling Heifer, 2nd place 2 Year Old Heifer and Yearling Bull. January 2011 we took eight buffalo to Denver for the NBA Gold Trophy Show and Sale. Our 2 Year Old Bred Heifer won Gold and Reserve Grand Champion Female. We also won silver, bronze, two forth place and one fifth place. January 2012 we took 10 buffalo to Denver for the NBA Gold Trophy Show and Sale. Our Yearling Heifer won Gold and Reserve Grand Champion Female. We also won 2 silver, 2 bronze, and 2 fourth place ribbions.
